n pursuance of the verbal instructions of His Excellency, the Governor on the occation of his visit on 2nd February 2016 to Mamit District, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mamit organized a one week Pre Recruitment Training for 29 youths from different villages of Mamit District who are willing to appear for the upcoming Army Recruitment rally to be held on 3rd November 2016 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui.

The Pre Recruitment Training was held at 4th IR Battalion Hqtrs, Luangpawl, Mamit under the supervision of Commandant, 4th IR Battallion, Mamit. It commenced on 19th July 2016 and ended on 23rd July 2016. It was conducted by a group of 6 (six) trainers from 4th IR Battallion and 4 (four) trainers from 181 Battalion BSF,Adm Base Tut Camp.

The training schedule included activities such as running practice, long jump, pull ups practice, road running and zigzag balance practice. The statistics of the trainees were recorded at the beginning of the training and were again ascertained at the end of the training. In addition to this, the aspiring youth are also to be given special classes for their written examination which is yet to be chalked out by the District Authority.

Further, since most of the villages do not have internet facilities, the applicants are advised to approach DC’s Office for online registration.

The Pre Recruitment Training was organized with an anticipation that it would go a long way towards maintaining the physical and mental fitness of the youths from Mamit district and also to give a thorough preparation for the upcoming recruitment rally.
